World Cup 2018: Arsenal legend, Dixon reveals two things Mbappe has that Thierry Henry didn’t have
Arsenal legend, Lee Dixon has revealed two things that France and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappé has that makes him better than Belgium assistant coach, Thierry Henry.
Dixon, who played with Henry at Arsenal, believes Mbappé has intelligence and pace and can be compared to his mentor.
The 54-year-old said this after Mbappe helped secure France’s ticket to the World Cup final on Tuesday in a brilliant performance against Belgium.
“This guy [Mbappe] seems to have something that Thierry didn’t have; that’s his hero [Henry],” Dixon said on ITV after France beat Belgium in the 2018 World Cup semi-final encounter on Tuesday night.
“I was lucky enough to play with him and when I first started at Arsenal, he was as fast as Mbappé.
“But there was a maturity that came with Thierry as he got older.
“This guy [Mbappé] seems to have something that Thierry didn’t have.
“He’s already intelligent and he still has the pace which is such an asset to have.”
France will now face the winner between England or Croatia in the final of the World Cup, which will be held on Saturday in Moscow.
